Volunteers for Sahana Project
Most of you know about the Open Source Disaster Management Software
Sahana. Sahana was built immediate after the Tsunami in 2004 December
and readily became the de-facto DMT in different countries.

Recently some of our alumni in IBM tooks an inititive to introduce
sahana in BD. With the coordination from Local IBM Dealer, Thakral BD
and its CTO Mr Shahjaman Majumder, Bir Protik, they quickly mobilize
the following resources.
1. A local server donated by Thakral to Disaster Management Bureue
2. 5 persons from US IBM and 2 person from Lankan Software Foundation
to setup this server
3. One server donated by IBM USA for AFD.
4. Two Volunteer from BUET to work at DMB
Then we have had a meeting with the team. Now to continue this effort
and to do some customization and localization we need your help.
We need 20+ Volunteer to initially support this systems. The
volunteers will have to do the following-
1. Maintaining the Sahana system at DMB, for the time being
2. Understand thooughly the architecture of Sahana
3. Do some Customization
4. Documented the process of maintaining the systems
and
5. Capacited the DMB personnel for the system maintenance and operation.
All the volunteer will have to work initially at DMB, Mohakhali, Dhaka
and after sometimes, some of them will have to move to Barisal where
the second system will be set-up.
The volunteers has to give some amount of time daily.
Those who have good foundation on Linux based systems, have some
exposure to PHP will be preferred.
Please note that this is an humanitarian task and we need only VOLUNTEERs.
