Subject: [greater_noakhali] For Mr. Ashraf - a man beside Cape of Good Hope

Dear Mr. Ashraf,

Thanks for your mail. Actually for last few days I was away from net connection. So, I could not see your mail and some other follow up mails. However, now I am confirmed that you are "mr. ashraf" whom I thought about.

I have gone through your mail and feel very sorry and sympathized for you. You have all the good intentions for falling back to beloved homeland and make a positive contribution for the country (especially for Noakhali), but due to the jealousy and conspiracy of some bad people your initiative is curtailed. In this situation, I see the whole things in two different perspectives:

            a.         Fight the Odds. If you want to do something for the society, you got to be very brave and should have the strong mental endurance to fight the odds. There will be many eventualities in your journey. If you cannot withstand the pressure, be sure, you have chosen a wrong track. If you see the autobiography of social reformers, you will see their journey was never smooth. But due to their patience, perseverance and hard work they succeeded at last. Similarly you can also fall back and make some contributions for the society. A layman person like me cannot do that. But a quality person like you can do that. That's why I requested you to fall back.

            b.         Follow the Alternative.  If you have an easy and better alternative, why to follow the difficult path and exhaust your fuel unnecessarily? In this concept, I would withdraw my advice and request you not to fall back in a hostile environment. I would suggest you to remain in South Africa or in Great Britain as an NRB (Non Resident Bangladeshi) . In this way you can help your local boys to go to foreign countries for studies and jobs. You can act as an anchor or hub for many youths who lost their all hopes of life and want to try their luck in the foreign countries. You can be a symbol of hope and aspiration for many, especially for the guys of Noakhali. So, your location is not important, rather your aim is important. You can contribute for your locality and country staying anywhere in the world.

Now come back to the question as to why you have so many enemies in home and abroad? So far my analysis goes, your excellent result in SSC and HSC made many as your enemy. You, being from a humble family background became a superstar overnight due to your result. On the other hand, many students from elite (so called) family background could not make a satisfactory result. So, you became the target of many. Moreover, your affiliation with politics made many potential leaders frightened. I am sorry to say that your sudden ambitions in politics were also out of proportion in those days. I hard many (in maijdee) used to say that "Mr. Ashraf will be the true successor of Barrister Modud Ahmed". Actually you were pre-maturely exposed (willingly/unwillin gly). During Earshad regime, it was the era for opportunists. Those opportunists very well understood that you were their potential contender. That's why many people became your enemy and they still consider you as a threat.

Dear Mr. Ashraf I am sure, after traveling across the glove, your vision has been changed & widen and you should have zero interest in our dirty politics. In the percent context, a politician (with due respect) in our country has be shameless and dishonest (though there are some exceptions). That's why according to me, politics should not be your means to do something for the society. You will rather create new enemies if you attempt politics again. You may please devote yourself in spreading education through out our beloved Noakhali. You don't have any back up force (M-4: man, mussel, money & manipulation) to promote you in politics. But you have wonderful academic result in your credit. You may please open your avenue of thinking in that line. Now decision is yours, you may fall back to your root or stay abroad. Whatever may be your location, you can serve your motherland & it's people, if you wish.

Many of us do have a misconception that for doing good to the society, we have to be involved in politics or we have to be a celebrity. I think it's not. We can even serve our society silently and secretly. Think about the moderators of Noakhali Online Group or greater_noakhali group mail. Many of us even don't know them. But they have given us a common platform to join together – to express ourselves. They have done something saliently. But we know, its a job well done !! They have shown us that there are too many major and minor events where we can contribute to our society. We should not try to be leader everywhere. Sometimes we should be happy by being a participating member, sometimes even by being a follower – but not by telling hidden story to jealousy, conflict and failure. Let's tell story of past glory and future hopes…….

Thanks and Regards

Nil Olin

[greater_noakhali] Re: Ashraf from South Africa

Dear Mr. Nil

Thanks

May be there is a mistake for me that I wanted  to do something for development of our Noakhali , I shouldn't  do that in my student life as I was not solvent or established but  I  have no interest to do something like I was trying to do that time although I am now solvent and established. I don't need any money to do politics or by anyway in my life.

U told me to make opportunities for youth of Noakhali from abroad for study or jobs. But I have bad experiences to help people in abroad to give loan or money for bank solvency statement or making their papers or doing their jobs paid by them in credit or installments

I couldn't get 10% good persons in the country or abroad in my life whom I was involved

Anyway I m trying to help people yet as it is my habit or choice of life. Keep in  touch.

[greater_noakhali] Re:Noakhali Govt College development

(SORRY IF U R NOT INTERESTED TO READ THIS, PLEASE IGNORE IT, DON'T BE CRAZY LIKE MR. SK. MOHIUDDIN OF TAZAROT GROUP)

Dear all brothers & sisters of greater Noakhali

Salam & thanks everybody

I m telling u that our greater Noakhali is not developing for our some people of greater Noakhali, as we r against each other or we cant tolerate each other every time. I m sure.

I have bad experiences in my life in Bangladesh or abroad. Let me tell u story of Noakhali Govt University College at Maijdee Court. It failed to develop long time for some people. At last it started at new campus. Old campus is using for intermediate class.

I m teling 2day the histry of development & starting honourse course in  Noakhali Govt College, Maijdee, noakhali. There were so many problems & controversy about that. We r not serious for our local development of any institutions or structures for  own interest.

Noakhali Govt College couldn't transfer at new place around 25 years for some people of Noakhali, then it started in new place when DG of education department DR. A.H.M Karim (Kritisantan of Noakhali Sadar) and Director of Facilities department Engineer Late delwar Hossain (Kritisantan of Noakhali & Founder of Kabirhat college) was determined to develop the new building of the college when the Education Minister was Mr. Mahbubur Rahman ( Kritysantan of Chatkil, Noakhali). It was a challenge at that time. Principal Late Jalil also took initiative with his teaching staff to do so in that time.

There was a demand to introduce honourse course in Noakhali Govt College from 1975. but it couldn't possible for space in old campus of Noakhali Govt College. Then it started in new campus. We made Noakhali Bishabiddaloy College Bastobaion Parisad which convener was Late Kazi Mahfuzul Haque (Madu Miah) Kritysantan of Sonapur, Noakhali

I was the member secretary of that committee and we took so many steps to full fill our demand as put banners, publish posters & handbills and class borJon  in all deferent educational institutions of Noakhali, Students also made possession in Noakhali.

We published some demand (bibrity) in the National daily newspapers in Dhaka, Mr. Mokbul Ahmed of Noakhali Samity Dhaka and President of Noakhali Shikha o Sangskrity  Parisad, Dhaka and I (Muhammed Ashraful Karim) as General Secretary of that Parisad applied to the Education Department to introduce honourse courses in Noakhali Govt College so that it become University College later. The Director General of education  Dr. A.H. M Karim took necessary action on our application in that time.

I m not telling any lies or giving any wrong information, I have all proof or documents.

Dear all brothers & sisters of greater Noakhali

Salam & thanks everybody, I m coming 2 c election in Bangladesh on 20 November.

Today I m telling u that our greater Noakhali is not developing for our some people of greater Noakhali, as we r against each other or we cant tolerate each other every time. I have bad experiences in my life in Bangladesh or abroad. Let me tell u  story of greater Noakhali Samity, Dhaka . It failed to do something for greater noakhali long time.

There is a Greater Noakhali Samity in Dhaka, which was founded in 1912 in Calcutta , then it came in Dhaka . There r no samity for long time like that, but now that samity is almost dead, there is a building at 32, Nazimuddin Road, Dhaka but I don't know what activities they r doing now as I left the country 10 years ago.

I was once very active for that samity in my student life, I was selected a member of the executive committee once. I tried myself to do something in that samity and development of greater Noakhali by that samity, but I could not do that for some people.

I saw that how some people made that samity inactive or miss use or trying to make money to do samity. Some people made that personal property or putting there name & fame by doing samity although they don't have that type of qualities or qualifications.

Mr. Moqbul Ahmed, one of founder and long time general secretary of that samity may be still alive in Dhaka , who can tell the glorious story of that samity but he may be  now feeling very sad for the present situation of this samity.

I will tell u  other some stories next time if u r interest to hear that from me. Good buy.

Dear Mr.

Dear all brothers & sisters of greater Noakhali

Salam & thanks everybody, I m living now in abroad ( Africa ) since last 10 years.

I m telling u that our greater Noakhali is not developing for our some people of greater Noakhali, as we r against each other or we cant tolerate each other every time. We have no equity for development of greater Noakhali and we r not serious for our local development, we have differences in our development issues, as a result we r not developed and we could not get so many developments for our Noakhali.

Let me tell u story of greater Noakhali headquarter issue in 1952, which failed to do develop a district headquarter in Maijdee court of old Noakhali district long time.

There was a Noakhali town which does not exist now. Maijdee was temporary headquarter of the old Noakhali district, which was founded in 1952, then it was a debate whether Feni or Maijdee will be headquarter for long time, but it could not decide for some people. They didn't give chance to decide govt. for headquarter.

Government acquired some land for districts headquarter in Begumginj chowrasta of chowmuhani as middle of Noakhali (Feni, Noakhali and Lakhsimipur) . But it was also not executed for some people then at last after so many years that headquarter would be in Maijdee Court . But it was too late to make a district headquarter town.

We lost so many development because decision of headquarter did not confirmed for long time. It could not do that time for some people. Our some people don't think for developments of  Noakhali. They r thinking their personal interests only.

I will tell u other some other stories next time if u r interest to hear that from me.

I m thanking u 4 teling me 2go back my country as early as possible 2do & contribute 4 som development of Noakhali. I had that intension frm my student life. I didn't join any govt or private jobs after finishing my student life but I didn't success 2do so then I left the country as my wife was in abroad and I decided 2 com abroad 2earn mony. Now I m solvent but I hav no interest 2go Bangladesh 2do anything as there r so many conspiracy by jealous against me, which cant grantee my life in future.
