Dear Mr. Ashraf, Thanks for your mail. Actually for last few days I was away from net connection. So, I could not see your mail and some other follow up mails. However, now I am confirmed that you are "mr. ashraf" whom I thought about. I have gone through your mail and feel very sorry and sympathized for you. You have all the good intentions for falling back to beloved homeland and make a positive contribution for the country (especially for Noakhali), but due to the jealousy and conspiracy of some bad people your initiative is curtailed. In this situation, I see the whole things in two different perspectives: a. Fight the Odds. If you want to do something for the society, you got to be very brave and should have the strong mental endurance to fight the odds. There will be many eventualities in your journey. If you cannot withstand the pressure, be sure, you have chosen a wrong track. If you see the autobiography of social reformers, you will see their journey was never smooth. But due to their patience, perseverance and hard work they succeeded at last. Similarly you can also fall back and make some contributions for the society. A layman person like me cannot do that. But a quality person like you can do that. That's why I requested you to fall back. b. Follow the Alternative. If you have an easy and better alternative, why to follow the difficult path and exhaust your fuel unnecessarily? In this concept, I would withdraw my advice and request you not to fall back in a hostile environment. I would suggest you to remain in Now come back to the question as to why you have so many enemies in home and abroad? So far my analysis goes, your excellent result in SSC and HSC made many as your enemy. You, being from a humble family background became a superstar overnight due to your result. On the other hand, many students from elite (so called) family background could not make a satisfactory result. So, you became the target of many. Moreover, your affiliation with politics made many potential leaders frightened. I am sorry to say that your sudden ambitions in politics were also out of proportion in those days. I hard many (in maijdee) used to say that "Mr. Ashraf will be the true successor of Barrister Modud Ahmed". Actually you were pre-maturely exposed (willingly/unwillingly). During Earshad regime, it was the era for opportunists. Those opportunists very well understood that you were their potential contender. That's why many people became your enemy and they still consider you as a threat. Many of us do have a misconception that for doing good to the society, we have to be involved in politics or we have to be a celebrity. I think it's not. We can even serve our society silently and secretly. Think about the moderators of Noakhali Online Group or greater_noakhali group mail. Many of us even don't know them. But they have given us a common platform to join together – to express ourselves. They have done something saliently. But we know, its a job well done !! They have shown us that there are too many major and minor events where we can contribute to our society. We should not try to be leader everywhere. Sometimes we should be happy by being a participating member, sometimes even by being a follower – but not by telling hidden story to jealousy, conflict and failure. Let's tell story of past glory and future hopes……. Thanks and Regards Nil Olin |
