[greater_noakhali] Re: Ashraf from South Africa

Dear Mr. Nil

Thanks

May be there is a mistake for me that I wanted  to do something for development of our Noakhali , I shouldn't  do that in my student life as I was not solvent or established but  I  have no interest to do something like I was trying to do that time although I am now solvent and established. I don't need any money to do politics or by anyway in my life.

U told me to make opportunities for youth of Noakhali from abroad for study or jobs. But I have bad experiences to help people in abroad to give loan or money for bank solvency statement or making their papers or doing their jobs paid by them in credit or installments

I couldn't get 10% good persons in the country or abroad in my life whom I was involved

Anyway I m trying to help people yet as it is my habit or choice of life. Keep in  touch.

Dear Mr. Ashraf,

Thanks for your mail. Actually for last few days I was away from net connection. So, I could not see your mail and some other follow up mails. However, now I am confirmed that you are "mr. ashraf" whom I thought about.

I have gone through your mail and feel very sorry and sympathized for you. You have all the good intentions for falling back to beloved homeland and make a positive contribution for the country (especially for Noakhali), but due to the jealousy and conspiracy of some bad people your initiative is curtailed. In this situation, I see the whole things in two different perspectives:

            a.         Fight the Odds. If you want to do something for the society, you got to be very brave and should have the strong mental endurance to fight the odds. There will be many eventualities in your journey. If you cannot withstand the pressure, be sure, you have chosen a wrong track. If you see the autobiography of social reformers, you will see their journey was never smooth. But due to their patience, perseverance and hard work they succeeded at last. Similarly you can also fall back and make some contributions for the society. A layman person like me cannot do that. But a quality person like you can do that. That's why I requested you to fall back.

            b.         Follow the Alternative.  If you have an easy and better alternative, why to follow the difficult path and exhaust your fuel unnecessarily? In this concept, I would withdraw my advice and request you not to fall back in a hostile environment. I would suggest you to remain in South Africa or in Great Britain as an NRB (Non Resident Bangladeshi) . In this way you can help your local boys to go to foreign countries for studies and jobs. You can act as an anchor or hub for many youths who lost their all hopes of life and want to try their luck in the foreign countries. You can be a symbol of hope and aspiration for many, especially for the guys of Noakhali. So, your location is not important, rather your aim is important. You can contribute for your locality and country staying anywhere in the world.

Now come back to the question as to why you have so many enemies in home and abroad? So far my analysis goes, your excellent result in SSC and HSC made many as your enemy. You, being from a humble family background became a superstar overnight due to your result. On the other hand, many students from elite (so called) family background could not make a satisfactory result. So, you became the target of many. Moreover, your affiliation with politics made many potential leaders frightened. I am sorry to say that your sudden ambitions in politics were also out of proportion in those days. I hard many (in maijdee) used to say that "Mr. Ashraf will be the true successor of Barrister Modud Ahmed". Actually you were pre-maturely exposed (willingly/unwillin gly). During Earshad regime, it was the era for opportunists. Those opportunists very well understood that you were their potential contender. That's why many people became your enemy and they still consider you as a threat.

Dear Mr. Ashraf I am sure, after traveling across the glove, your vision has been changed & widen and you should have zero interest in our dirty politics. In the percent context, a politician (with due respect) in our country has be shameless and dishonest (though there are some exceptions). That's why according to me, politics should not be your means to do something for the society. You will rather create new enemies if you attempt politics again. You may please devote yourself in spreading education through out our beloved Noakhali. You don't have any back up force (M-4: man, mussel, money & manipulation) to promote you in politics. But you have wonderful academic result in your credit. You may please open your avenue of thinking in that line. Now decision is yours, you may fall back to your root or stay abroad. Whatever may be your location, you can serve your motherland & it's people, if you wish.

Many of us do have a misconception that for doing good to the society, we have to be involved in politics or we have to be a celebrity. I think it's not. We can even serve our society silently and secretly. Think about the moderators of Noakhali Online Group or greater_noakhali group mail. Many of us even don't know them. But they have given us a common platform to join together – to express ourselves. They have done something saliently. But we know, its a job well done !! They have shown us that there are too many major and minor events where we can contribute to our society. We should not try to be leader everywhere. Sometimes we should be happy by being a participating member, sometimes even by being a follower – but not by telling hidden story to jealousy, conflict and failure. Let's tell story of past glory and future hopes…….

Thanks and Regards

Nil Olin
